A Message from Carol Stone and Woody Woodland,
Co-Founders, Friends of Cape May Jazz, Inc.,
Producers of the Cape May Jazz Festivals

After almost 17 years and 33 wonderful jazz festivals we, the co-Founders have resigned,
Carol is no longer Artistic Director/Program Chair. We have lost all confidence in the
Executive Board and staff. In our opinion they have neither the compassion, the know-
ledge of jazz nor know-how to produce a successful jazz festival and have no idea of
the cultural ramifications of this African American Art Form….. it gives the appearance
of a white take-over….. therefore we are against this new leadership.
We doubt there will be a November Cape May Jazz Festival and if there is one, it will not
be anything like the past festivals.
